New Zealand’s economy depends on reliable and flexible warehousing and distribution companies to ensure the millions of dollars worth of goods are moved accurately and efficiently. Fallon King is interested to see what happens at Linfox, the country’s largest privately owned supply chain company employing some 15,000 staff which shifts goods throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Heading into the storage shed, Fallon is in awe of the 35,500 pallets of product housed by the company and site manager, Paul Blanchard, explains what happens when an order comes in to be fulfilled. Fallon is soon aboard the picking machine to put together an order that will then be wrapped and distributed via one of the company’s delivery trucks.

Getting it right in the warehouse is crucial but customer service is just as important at Linfox. New Zealand Fleet Administrator, Suzanne Restieaux, gives Fallon an overview of the role great service plays in a fast paced industry where customers expect their goods to arrive on time and undamaged.

Warehousing and distribution is an industry offering plenty of opportunities for advancement and a great option for those who enjoy working within a team environment.
